A very special reason to visit the beach

Last week was a very special week at Giant Digital: we proudly welcomed the Marine Conservation Society as our latest client, and held our first team volunteering event.

At Giant Digital, one thing we are passionate about is helping good causes.

The reason we chose to specialise in working with the charity sector nearly a decade ago was down to our team. They chose our direction, and as a management team, we knew it was the right path for us. We are extremely fortunate to include amongst us some incredibly generous and dedicated people, keen to support charities and make a difference where it matters most, so there was a natural fit.

From trusteeships to training guide dog puppies, charity event support to community group management, we love doing our bit.

Last week, we held our first ever team volunteering event; a beach clean on the Southwest coast. Whilst it wasn’t quite the sunny day we’d hoped for, we still donned our waterproofs, collected our litter pickers, and cleared several kilos of unwanted items from Portishead beach.

Our event, in aid of (and organised by) the Marine Conservation Society, was not only rewarding but incredibly interesting too.  As a team we learned a great deal about the sad reality of beach pollution, and the important work carried out by the charity, which extends so much further than just beach cleans. If you don’t know about their work, we’d encourage you to take a look: www.mcsuk.org

And we may well have been listening just that little bit more intently than usual, because by wonderful coincidence, the Marine Conservation Society (a charity that had long been on our wish list to work with!) became our latest client, just one day prior to our beach clean!

The Marine Conservation Society is a UK charity fighting for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean: one we can all enjoy. They work tirelessly to ensure that we recover the health of our oceans and protect them for the future – for the sake of our wildlife, our climate and our own wellbeing.

Of the new partnership, Simon Evans, Founding Director of Giant Digital said:

We are incredibly excited to be supporting the Marine Conservation Society on their digital journey by using our skills, innovation and sector expertise to further amplify their work. They champion an incredibly important cause that affects both people and planet, one we feel particularly strongly about as a team, and we couldn’t be more proud to be helping them achieve their goals.

The Marine Conservation Society’s Director of Engagement and Communications, Jennifer Mitchell, added;
