When we at Giant Digital were approached by Big Brothers Big Sisters UK (BBBSUK) to create their new website, we knew from the outset that we wanted to help…even with a launch deadline that was particularly tight!
Big Brothers Big Sisters UK is a national child mentoring programme providing caring adult volunteers to children who need it most. Built in the footprints of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the largest mentoring programme in the world, they support adult volunteers to provide a consistent, one-to-one and long-term relationship with a child. The charity’s ‘Bigs’ show their ‘Littles’ there is someone who believes they matter.
Much of our existing work at Giant Digital is with well-established charities, and whilst BBBSUK are a small non-profit in the UK, they have strong international roots, a wonderful mission and proven results. Their cause struck a chord with the whole team, so there was no doubt in our minds about saying yes when asked to help them to develop their first UK website.
With a fixed timescale for launch, to coincide with the UK launch of the charity, we worked closely with the BBBSUK team to deliver a website that would give them the digital presence they needed, with the ability to develop the platform further as the charity grows and evolves.
We had just 8 weeks to develop and launch the BBBSUK website, which is ambitious to say the least! The Giant Digital team pulled out all the stops - from the project and account managers right through to our software engineers, we worked closely with the team at BBBSUK to build them a digital presence that would enable them to share their mission and encourage support both now and in the future.
From the start, Giant Digital has been really helpful, not just in explaining the process of designing a new website, but in providing advice and support. We had a really tight deadline, but at no time did we feel Giant Digital compromised the quality of their work; in particular their Client Services are excellent. We are now looking at the next stage in developing our website, and we are confident that Giant Digital are the right people to help us.

The new BBBSUK website, built on Django CMS, will not only serve the charity’s needs today, but also offer the flexibility and means to be developed as the charity grows. The project itself has established the foundations for a more comprehensive digital platform in the future and ensured the BBBSUK team have received the best value for their investment.
